Fall Virgin Islands Charter League Show (VICL)- Lunch aboard Catamaran Starfish
I recently attended two Charter Yacht Shows- the Virgin Islands Charter League (VICL) Show on St. Thomas and the BVI Charter Yacht Show on Tortola, BVI. This is my opportunity to meet the new crews and reconnect with my favorite crews as well as see the condition of the yachts and what they’ve added or changed. It’s a very festive, hectic time and a lot of fun!
I had the opportunity to have lunch on three very fine yachts and wanted to share the kinds of delicious fare that you can expect to be served on a Crewed Yacht Charter.
At the St. Thomas Show, I had a delightful lunch hosted by Capt. Sam and First Mate/Chef Jen Augsburger on board Starfish, a Leopard 46 that can accommodate up to 6 guests in three double cabins with ensuite heads and separate showers. First, let me tell you how much I liked the interior decorating. The colors are bright and accent pieces made me smile. So crisp, fresh and fun!

Now, for the awesome meal..
The first course was a Mixed Greens salad dressed with a Whole Citrus Vinaigrette – organic greens dressed with a vinaigrette made with whole lemons and oranges (peels, too) to cleanse the palate
The second course was Captain Sam’s Favorite Seafood Cioppino — light and bright and chocked full of fresh Roma tomatoes, diver scallops, lobster and shrimp-Yum!
The third course was Lemony Almond Macaroons, a chewy burst of lemon and coconut and almonds in every bite
Finally, these treats for the tastebuds were accompanied by a most light and delicious Chardonnay that had no oaky taste and was a perfect pairing!
All in all, a savory dining experience with an awesome crew. Thank you Jen and Sam and I know my charter clients are in good hands with you two!
